What do ya’ll recommend for changing a tire on an F350 as far as getting the lugs off? A large 4-way? My truck doesn’t have a lug wrench and i want to get something in case. I had to use a long cheater bar to get one wheel off. Won’t have that luxury in the field.
I have never had luck with one of those tire crosses (? No clue what you would call them). I have a really cool one that is for farm equipment, and pretty large. Still it is just kinda bulky and hard to get a good grip on without hitting something or it just coming off. I would also advise a breaker bar or an impact. Depending on the budget. With the breaker, you are probably still gonna have to do the old jump and kick to loosen the nuts.
breaker bar of good quality and impact socket and a piece of pipe for extra leverage. try to not jump on breaker bar as have broke many studs that way.

Haven't had a problem with a stud breaking off, but if you got a piece of pipe, I would take that instead of the jumping any day. Never had the luxury of having a cheater bar when I needed it
I like the stock lug wrench that came with my truck. Sits in a nice carrier on the inside of the engine compartment on the driver's side. Has a 24 inch handle. No problem getting the lugs off using it.
With the 24" breaker bar and impact socket with an extension if needed, while trying to loosen the nut, hit the end of the breaker bar with a 3lbs hammer, making your own, homemade impact tool.
Maybe some PB Blaster on the nuts may help if they have been on there for many years.
Anti-seize compound on the threads before installing the nuts I have been anti-seizing all threads for many years.

I wish I could find one of the original lug wrenches.
