axle codes

I have a F7 axle in my 1963 N600 truck, I have searched till I'm blue in the face, both on google and the old decode list at the top of this page. Anybody have specs on this axle?

I have to search for those myself. From a decode:

F7 = Eaton model 13802 Two Speed Rear Axle / 5.83/8.11 / 15,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity

Does that make sense for your truck? You should have the 2 speed shifter or other evidence of the two speed like the shift motor etc on the axle, and your GVWR is probably under 20,000.

Thank you. How in the world did you find that so fast. I have been searching for two hours. Yes I would think so it has a 20000 rating. Yes I have the two speed axle, I was looking to see what the ratio's were and the weight rating. Thanks again.

The decoder ring I have doesn't have axle codes. I have not put forth the effort to get a real one. But Numberdummy has done millions of these. So:

Go up to to Search, select Advanced Search

Keyword "Eaton" (but they're not all Eatons... So try "Timken" or "Spicer" if you come up blank, see below re codes)

User name: Numberdummy, or for a smaller same, my user name. (I've done 10s of decodes....)

Select Large Truck for the forum

Show results as POSTS, otherwise you'll be all day going through things, lose your place, repeat the search etc.

Stuff like F2, F7 G2 etc tend to be Eatons. 24, 26 or other two digit numericals tend to be "Timken". Usually. Sorta.
