Help
Hey guys, so I recently bought a 2007 f350 6.0l. I love it, it’s my first diesel and it drives good. However recently, my service light comes on at random times but everything seems normal when it does. Temp gauges look fine, boost gage, and oil pressure. I just recently did an oil change about 200 miles ago if that. Also had the truck scanned at an Advanced Auto and nothing come up. Any help as to how to solve this will be greatly appreciated.

You need to purchase some kind of monitoring system, to read peramitors. Forscan Lite Or Torque Pro are really good. You can down load them to your smartphone and buy an OBD11 dongle for eather, Bluetooth for Android or WiFi for Apple. You can then read codes, witch will tell us why the engine lite is coming on and also post some readings on different peramitors on your motor. Guys here can help but need a little info, or they'll just be guessing. That gets expensive.

To maintain these engines, you will need some kind of monitoring system. The systems he mentioned are a great start and will serve you well.

I'd even emphasize: you shouldn't have that truck without a monitoring device. You're asking for trouble and these trucks are happy to answer. But, with that device, you can even see many issues before they become problems. If you funds, you also need a fuel pressure gauge. The damage done by a loss of fuel pressure is too great to risk.
