So I have a 2004 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer. I just love the car, even though the gas milage is a little low for Swedish gas prices... :-)
However, I have an issue with the vehicle inspection. They check the VIN of the car in several locations, and now they can't find the one supposed to be on the front right frame corner. It could be that my mechanic just painted it over, but I don't even know where to grind the paint off. Can anyone show me a pic of where the VIN is located?
I don't find any reference to a VIN on the frame of the Expy in the factory service manuals. Only the one at the base of the windshield and the one on the vehicle certification sticker on the driver's door pillar below the latch striker bar. I looked on my '03 and there is no numbers, let alone a VIN number, on the front end of either side of the frame. Certainly not one that an inspector could easily find with a flashlight doing a routine safety inspection.
