98 Climate Controls
1: What is that climate control sensor for (the little opening to the left of the glove box) if there are only manual controls?
2: With the climate control set for floor and upper vents I can hear the a/c compressor kicking on and off. Should the a/c compressor being running when I've got it set on heat sent to the floor and upper vents?? The a/c compressor doesn't run when set to upper vents only.
The reason there is a climate control sensor is because most if not all of the dash in the Ranger is used in the Explorer, and you can get auto climate control in an Explorer.
As for the A/C compressor cutting on and off, the only 2 positions that won't activate the A/C are floor only (heat for your feet) and vent only. The combination modes can activate the A/C compressor if the temp is set low enough.
