I have a 69 F100 with P/S (customized) with the 3 on the tree.
Well, when i bought her she had been wrecked & the guy had put a 72 grille in place of the wrecked grille.
So you can see that this is itching for lighting problem right?
I parked it bout 3 to 4 years ago, thinking i was going to sell her (gave up looking for grille).
This year i started fixing her again and found that my headlights dont like to work and when they do, the driver side is really dim and my dash lights don't work.
The high to low switch doesn't work either.
All the usual...Check all grounds, ground connections. From there you would want to make sure the proper wires are actually connected to where they should be. You might have to find a diagram. Sounds like some of the front lights in the new grille may not be connected properly, being the brights don't work. But the dimmer switch "could" be bad. Fairly unlikely though, if you can hear it click, and it feels normal, and not like it's fixing to fall apart. Offhand, I put my money on bad wiring, being the front end has been worked on. From there, you need to check for voltage drops, and proper voltage at the proper lights. IE: both elements when the brights are on, etc. As far as cab, same drill.. Check all grounds. make sure all bulbs are good, as I've heard reports of possible series wiring. One bad bulb would kill all in this case. Wiggle the dash light dimmer rheostat to see if the lights will come on at a different setting. You can get dead spots. You'll need a volt-ohmmeter to do any real testing. MK
When you parked your truck, did this stuff all work or was it flackey too? I'd start by checking all your connections and grounds, especially around the "new" grille. The dimmer switch is probably bad too, they don't last forever on the floor. Dash lights could be a bad ground or the rheostat in the headlight switch is shot, try turning the **** back and forth. Well, that's a start. Looking forward to seeing some pics of Blue Angel, and thanks for the explanation.

If you parked it for 3 or 4 years ago, and depending on where you parked it (like outside) - it is a distinct possibility that mice have chewed some of your wiring. Start at the lights and work back, examining all exposed wires for chewed spots....
Just hope they didn't chew the ones under the dash -
