Congrats on getting married!
Taking the service manager job at Bobcat was a mistake, the owner is a micro-managing butthole. I have some resume's out and one guy that already contacted me for a maintenance supervisor job. It would be driving back to Atlanta again but it might be worth it, waiting to see how it pans out.
Monday I ended up quitting the service manager job at the Bob Cat / Kubota place. It was the worst job I have ever had in my life. I could only take it for 30 days and I had to get the heck out of there. Yesterday I did a phone interview and got a hire recommendation. They forwarded it to the local supervisor and he is supposed to call me today.
For the past 2 months I have been doing a lot of past due painting and home upgrading stuff. Wife has family coming right after the 4th and they have never been to our house, wife wants it looking extra nice so I have been working my butt off. My son wants to take the 79 for a drive so we may fire it up today and take it around the block, can't go too far because it still needs a radiator.
I realized I was still a member and figured I should leave the AL chapter since I left the state about 15 years ago. I feel your pain on the job, glad its working out! I just recently made a position change myself. It finally came to a head and the results ended up being good, with young kids my quality of life(and my family's) is much better so far.
Chief, I don't blame you one bit. After I had my heart attack and surgery back in 2017 and the doctor told me "I can let you go back to work, and live 5 years, or you can retire and live 25-30 years" I think you know which one I chose. Even though I've still got alot of bills to pay. It's the simpler life for me. I'm happier and doing my own thing. Making a little "side" money on a few things. I hope it all works out for you. Good to see ya KubotaOrange! We might try to make a pass through Dawsonville sometime soon, need to visit the Hall of Fame for a couple of things if you know what I mean.
I am still pretty much on track with my retire in 2 years plan. 3 years would be better but I will play it by ear. Paying off the bills is what I am doing now. I think the wife likes having me home but she won't admit to it.
I have the second interview tomorrow morning for the technician job. 99% sure I have it.

Stop by aunt Dyan's right down the road towards the square if you do for some good food! Awesome burgers, chicken fingers, and great selection of meat/3. Its right next to the kangaroo gas station. Dont let the looks fool ya. It is right around the corner from the pool room, but its just not that good anymore (to me)

I got the job!!!
They said it could take up to 3 weeks before I can start, I think it will go faster than that. Still have to pass the background and pee pee test but no worries there.
Congrats Chief!! We're leaving on vacation to NC next Thursday, 10 days away from everything. Spent the day cutting the daughter's grass then came home to rewire the trailer lights and making a few work lights for loading at night, got it mostly done then the rain hit so I'll finish up tomorrow.
