Okay according to what Bismic has gathered and that above, seems like the guy at our local dealer was correct with saying that the injector harness is part of the AB(early build). Mine is serviced separately so someone must have converted it before I purchased the truck a decade ago. So for sure the correct part would be the revision. I was so confused when he told me that because my harness is definitely separate from the injector harness. Maybe this Thread will help others with an early build as well.

That’s what I was thinking too.

Thanks for this thread. I have an early build and its sitting because there's a short in the engine harness. I replaced the injector harness a few months ago separately. I too am looking for the dreaded "3c3z-12b637-ab" part number thats backordered, but I also noticed that it came with the injector harness that I just replaced 2 months ago. Just to be clear, you were able to use the 3c3z-12b637-ba revision? Thanks in advance. My truck has been sitting for weeks and its killing me lol

Yes I was able to use the BA revision. I am still having issues though with injection pressure. I think ford phased the AB out through upgrades and just has it for those that weren't upgraded, but I think that it is rare to have an AB variant these days. Just be sure it's the harness before you spend the money and time. It's a lot of work putting one in correctly. Mind the chafe points and route it like it's supposed to be or you will probably have problems down the road.

Best response I've gotten all week. Pretty sure its the wiring. Virtually everything else has been replaced. New IPR/ICP/Crankshaft and Camshaft sensor/FICM/Injector Harness. There was a mouse in the engine bay the first time I popped the hood on the truck and a bunch of shredded up **** that was his nest. I'll make sure to route correctly. Thanks again for the assistance.

My last 03 was a late March build, if that qualifies for early. These are the part numbers I have:

Main engine harness 3C3Z-12B637-BA
Injector harness 3C3Z-9D930-AA

As Jack mentioned, I found the EGR and throttle body leads were too short so I returned it. Then I bought another one when the truck was having random no starts, and it had the same problem. It apparently works though, because it went on my newer 03 two months ago. On this truck the throttle body lead being short isn't an issue because there aren't even any metal contacts in the plug on the TB. Unfortunately the EGR lead is under tension, holding up the entire trunk of the harness between the oil filter and heater core pipe.

Hopefully you have better luck than I have. I have replaced the engine wiring harness, all sensors on the engine(and I mean ALL of them CMP, CKP, IAT, EBP, ICP, IPR, EOT, EOP, ECT) as well as tested the FICM on another truck courtesy of Bulletproof Diesel. Just replaced the PCM and every fuse and relay inside the central distribution box. it wants to crank. I have over 2000lb on ICP while cranking(dieselsite HPOP). I just bought FORScan Lite and i'm going to try to check sync. It will try to fire but always I hear a click inside the central distribution box and I have found that it is coming from the back of the box. There are two small solenoids on the back if you take the rear cover off. they click when it tries to fire off. I have fuel pressure(~58lbs). The buzz cycle sounds great, there doesn't seem to be any base engine problems if you use the starter wire key off test. I'm at a loss. this is the first time I haven't been able to get the truck to start no matter what i've done.

What is your fuel injector pulse width when cranking?
RPM when cranking?
V-reference voltage when cranking?

Didn't check injector pulse width.
I can't see an RPM until it fires off, which I got about a minute of today. It fired up after cranking on it a while and kept it under throttle till it died.
as far as the voltage. I think the lowest I saw it was 11.2 volts but I had the charger hooked up(150/55A) and helping crank the truck. I'll have to try again tomorrow and write down what I see.
I am going to check for ground at PIN 42 on C1361c. It may be because of the erratic cranking and it trying to start but I have gotten a CMP and CKP circuit open code that's intermittent. Although I have changed both sensors multiple times as well as the harness and PCM.

V-reference voltage is the 5 volt circuit for critical sensors.

Interesting about the rpms. You should see them when cranking.

there is a fuel pump switch on the passenger side, that trips when the vehicle is in an accident..mine the wiring harness was pinched somewhere and finally shorted out..truck wouldn't start, took the dealership a few days to find it They kept the old one to show me..still not sure I believe it but it ran good after that.

Some scanners seem to have a hard time with this.

It can be done manually at any 5 volt sensor. The EGR valve connector is handy.
