1965 back door hinges

Hey everyone!

I am the proud new owner of a 1965 Ford Econoline. One of the previous owners used some metal straps to screw the rear barn doors shut. I was hoping to restore the doors to working condition but I can't for the life of me find hinges anywhere on the internet. Does anyone know of a place I can find them or will I just be waiting and hoping they pop up on eBay someday?

Thanks!

Did they remove the entire hinge? The hinges are riveted to the door, so it would take some effort to remove them. You don't have to use rivets, but rivets do not loosen up over time. The back doors and the side cargo doors use the same hinges.

The right side door, with the outside handle:
Top hinge - C1UZ 8926800-B
Bottom hinge - C1UZ 8926810-A

Left back door, without the outside handle:
top hinge - C1UZ 8926801-B
bottom hinge: C1UZ 8926811-A

It looks like www.rearcounter.com has them listed. They list parts for old parts houses that still have 60-year-old NOS hinges covered in dust.

Hey there EmilBarnabas,

Thanks for the info, that is super helpful! One of the previous owners screwed the back doors together and into the back of the rig so I can't tell if they were cut or removed entirely. The guy I bought from believed they were removed. The inside is upholstered at the moment so I can't tell by looking there either. If I get some time after work I'll run out and snap some photos to show you what I'm working with.

My body/paint guy had an idea to keep them screwed together and make it one big door with custom hinges at the top to make it a hatch since we don't intend to keep it 100% original anyway... so we aren't completely set on the plan yet. We really need to unscrew everything and just get a game plan for those doors.

Thanks again for the help!

I've seen pictures of the back and side doors welded together and lifted like a large hatch-back.

Welding would definitely be the way to go. If we end up doing it I'll make a build thread and document the process. It's going to be a fun project!
