Looking for anyone that could help decode these tags and maybe add some info on the engine. We're located in Montana and the farm has owned this since the late 70s, don't know the history before we acquired it. On the drivers door you can faintly read "highways" so I'm assuming it was originally special ordered for the road dept. but its set up now as a box & hoist.
It's titled as a '65 F750 and the tag says its a F750 but it looks like an F800/850?
Engine block is a D4TE and intake is C5TE and stroke is a little over 3.75
Any help is much appreciated
I'm no expert, but the images I find for '65 match your truck. The F750 and up have that "narrow" grill look.
This looks like a Candian market truck and the tags have a different format than US trucks. Someone may have the info, but I don't.
The C5TE manifold decodes to 1965 truck, but the D4TE block code decodes to 1974 truck. This would indicate it was replaced some time after 1974.
The 3.75" stroke probably indicates an 391FT engine. (4.05" bore x 3.78" stroke). The 401 SD engine also has a 3.75" stroke. Does the intake extend under the valve covers? If so, you are in luck and have the 391 FT.
The front axle code "3C" is a Rockwell (Timken) model FD-903, 9,000lbs capacity.
Thanks for the reply, the truck has a 5 speed manual transmission with what I believe is a 4 speed auxiliary box if I remember correctly. The intake does extend under the valve covers so it must be the 391

This is a Canadian only VIN and Warranty Plate. I could decode it IF I could read it. The top line is too blurry, could you please type the info?
Where it says engine at the lower left...what is the first digit?
