I think I will go with this one. Looks like I can put it by the license plate.
I have an independant one on the top of the TC for when loaded. It is always on. The other will be for when the TC is of the truck
Thanks
Additional info: As I was removing the camera for return I noticer two wires in a loop. One white and one green. My camera had no instructions included. While reading instructions for another camera there was an option to cut the loops. I tried it on the already installed camera from Amazon and it worked. Cut one wire and the camera view reverses. Cut the other wire and the guide lines show up.
So now this camera seem like it will work for me. For anyone else looking for something like this it probably is not a bad option and also one of the less expensive ones.
Does anyone have the link to see this direct from Ford? My FIL insists on running a wind gate on his truck (god only knows why, his tailgate had the step built into it), but still wants his backup camera. This looks like it might solve that issue.
Also, the description here claims it is for 17-19 trucks, but in the 'about' section it claims it is for 15/16 trucks. If someone can give me some more info on this it'd be great - he would love something plug-and-play.
Got a 2019 F350 and last week ordered a RV Camera from Camera Source:
SKU# CS-FTRSD-FM-1721-25
Super Duty Plug Play Rear Flush Cam Kit
Year: 2017 - 2021
Length: 25'
$212.90 shipping and tax.
Went with a 25' long cord for routing on camper backside along ladder and top and then just coil up the slack underneath the bumper and leave enough to plug into original 6 pin plug that the tailgate uses. The pic on website shows a different plug configuration than whats on my truck so I called and spoke to the company and they said that was just a generic plug in the add and when you select the truck year they will match it to that specific plug. We'll see should get the camera in the next day or so. Will post up what happens.
