Anything is possible but why would you want to do it? A modern engine has a different torque range and FAR more horsepower...to take full advantage of these features I would think that you would want to marrying that engine up to an equivalent trans.

I probably will never do the swap and if I DO I would follow your suggestion and swap out the trans also . The flathead starts and runs great just doesn’t like the FLORIDA heat.
Yes it will. I absolutely despised aftermarket electric pumps back in the day because they didn't last long and either didn't pump at all or blew your needle and seat open and flooded the engine. Use good new stuff and a very good regulator and vapor lock won't be a problem.
