Dashpads - reproductions or original tooling?
I see on LMC, there's a $300 "reproduction"; CJ Pony has a $200 reproduction and a $335 (on sale!) "original tooling" one. Dennis-Carpetner also has one for $340 though it does not say whether its a repro or original tooling (but based on the pix and price, I suspect it's original tooling)...
So can anyone chime in on what's worth getting? The part number, I believe, is D3TZ-1004282-C. Is there anywhere to get one painted in the original color? Ironically, I was watching a YouTuber by the name of Junkyard Mook who is restoring a previously-flooded 78 camper explorer special - her interior is Jade Glow I believe and a fan sent her a replacement dash pad... which is hatteras green :|
I suppose while on the subject - what about door panels? Mine are toast thanks to one of the previous owners :\

I can't really help you out, but I just wanted to point out that with dennis carpenter, they'll say whether or not it was made with the original tooling.
For instance, if you look at the left side of this page for a 73-79 hood latch, it lists that it's "Made in USA" "Made by Dennis Carpenter" "Original Ford Tooling" and "Qualifies for flat rate shipping".
On the dash pad it only says "Made in USA" and "Qualifies for flat rate shipping".
Using vinyl paint would be a better option that anything else if you had to color match . if you can't buy the right color in a spray can a paint distributor can match it for you.

And or if you do get a new actual dash pad, get the carpet cover to save the dash pad from getting cooked. My wife got me a black carpet cover from JC Whitney years ago has my initials and a bull rider embroidered in it, it is in the blue truck. And I have a red carpet dash pad cover in the silver truck. Pics in a bit.
Green door panels.... like looking for a 5 gal bucket full of unicorn tears.

Can upholstery shops actually remove the whole cracked (foamy?) area and replace it while keeping the metal base?
I pulled it over the edge so you could see the brand. Dashmat.
Wife got my initials and a bull rider embroidered in it. She got it from JC Whitney a long time ago. Does not look like RRG to me, but I do not sweat the small stuff and worrying about that....is small stuff.
They are the cheap option to cover up the cracked up dash pads.... BUT.... My truck had one when I first got it..... it was warped and wasn't stuck down worth a good crap. It looked stupid.... it fit OK but just looked like a cheap fix.
NOW.... that doesn't mean you can't find some really "super good" glue and stick that joker downs and make it look good.
When I get to that part..... I am just gonna bite the bullet and get a new repro dash pad.
