e4od trans shudder and hard shift

e4od trans shudder and hard shift
So I recently bought a 1997 f350 7.3 cclb with a e4od
The previous owner told me it shifts hard. After initially driving it, I didn't really think it shifted that hard because I own a 95 f250 7.3 and I know the e4od's shift hard. But then tonight going up a hill it gave me a super hard shift and now I know what he's talking about. It will also shudder if rpms start to climb just over 2k until it eventually shifts at around 2400-2500 rpm. its almost as if its shifting late and just shudders in the meantime. it does run through all the gears though. previous owner thinks the shift kit was installed incorrectly or that there's a broken spring. Trans fluid is good, no metal. I'm thinking about adding lucas oil trans fix. what do you guys think. Do you think getting the truck tuned with a hydra tuner would fix the shift points and take away the shuddering? thanks
