7.3 Godzilla Making 1k HP on Stock Internals
I came across an article in Road and Track about a shop in Australia that used a stock 7.3 Godzilla motor, added a supercharger/tuning and E85, and made 1015 hp/988 tq on the dyno.. Pretty darn impressive!

Had an 02' Mustang with a Kenne Bell supercharger on it. Damn that car was insanely fast (500+ rwhp). Sold it to an 18 year old kid with his parents after a quick drive around the block while two others were waiting to check it out. His dad paid me cash on the spot watched him drive off and hoped he wouldn't wrap it around a tree.

I agree, and I personally wouldn’t be interested in making that kind of power in a new Super Duty.. But I’m more impressed with the stock motor holding up to that, and hopefully it speaks to the robustness/longevity of the motor (especially in stock form).

this is very impressive. I love big HP and boosted is always nice. However, for my intended purposes, the stock 445 should be fine for my driving and towing runs. I will know more if I ever get a truck. The 445 makes a lot more torque off idle than my SBC and the 4.30 gear will help al lot also.

Big difference between an engine that was designed around a supercharger and built specifically for one versus just slapping a supercharger on any engine. Sure it will work for a bit but your maintenance hours to actual run time are going to be excessive unless you upgrade a number of parts to make it work reliably for any length of time.

The crazy thing is they are just getting started with this engine and its catching on fast, already 3 superchargers developed/being developed and several internal mods. Will be very interesting to see what it is capable of a few years down the road. Not saying I would want to do any crazy mods to my truck now as it has plenty of power in stock form and dont want to affect reliability, but down the road when the motor is a little tired could be fun to make a 1500hp hot rod out of it. Also afraid this may be one of the last large displacement gas motors to be developed with the way things are headed.
