Okay so truck has a vibration and not like a tire out of balance or wheel bearing. I have recently had the tires balanced and rotated, new drive shaft ujoints and carrier bearing. Everything underneath seems tight and I have had my mechanic check things over and dive it. It is a vibration that you feel in your butt not just the steering wheel. You can start to feel it at about 35 to 40 mph. When not towing you subsides after about 45 mph. When I am towing my 5th wheel the vibration is much worse and can be felt at speeds 35mph and above. Does not seem to be RPM related. Any help or thoughts of what to check for would be great.
I don’t think it is engine related. It’s like the whole truck shudders/vibrates. When not loaded or towing it is noticeable between 35-45 mph and doesn’t matter what rpm. Will do it in 4th gear or 5th at that speed.
Sloppy shocks can do whatever and alignment never hurts.Driveshaft out of balance after ujoint swap?
When engine fibrates for real,it does shake whole vehicle.
Noticed any loss of power?
no power loss and it did this vibration before the ujoints and carrier bearing was replaced. That was the reason for doing those. The carrier bearing was pretty sloppy but must not have been the issue.
Well driving the truck today it almost has to be chassis related. The vibration feels like you are driving over a corrigated road when between 35 and 45 mph. Doesn’t matter what gear or rpm. I even threw it in neutral and still the same thing. I scheduled an alignment for next Wednesday so maybe that will solve something or they can tell me what’s wrong.
