I will ask this again. Will you need to drill a hole and install an external antenna or is it already there?
I didn't have to add anything. Just swapped the APIM. I do have Sirius that includes the roof fin if that would make any difference at all. I think the trucks may have GPS as the radio has a clock sync to GPS function.
This reply shows the module swap on my 2021 XL to add NAV.
It was a part swap w/o any programming required.

If you install the module won't you need the antenna to make it capture the signals?

On my 2021 XL, w/ the SYNC 3, w/o NAV and w/o Sirius, it was just swap the rear APIM module, removing and replacing the radio.
Any and all navigation apps and OEM navigation systems will sometimes lead one down a bad road or give bad directions hence the reason one should always have a different back up or two.
Including the OEM navigation and using my iPhone, I have eight different navigation apps at my disposal and a couple of them can be used offline and without a cell signal just like the OEM navigation.
