Hey y'all, Backround: I swapped my 01 f250 super cab front doors (automatic) to manual doors because it was cheaper( $132 total for 2 doors) to do that than to repair (about $150 per door for inner/outer lower skins).
QUESTION: So my door ajar alarm comes on, has anyone swapped to manual doors and had a fix for this or does anyone know how to fix it? Its more of an annoyance than a necessity and would like to have it fixed. All of the original wiring is still intact too just in case I ever find a nice set of auto's for a reasonable price.
Any help is appreciated!
Pull the clam shell off the steering column and clipped on the underside of the ignition is black wire pink stipe, at least that's the color on my E99. Disconnect that wire and no more door chimes. I just folded mine back and let it hang.

I'll give this a shot and see if that does any good!

A: Pull out radio box, locate ECU, unbolt, remove. Locate chime mechanism, (door ajar, seatbelt warning) is thumb-size button cell connected 2 solder points to ECU board.
Get a ceramic coil soldering gun, hit both solder points on backside of ECU board, flip it over, pry chime mechanism carefully away from ECU board, reinstall, no more noise!
