Very nice! Love the color scheme and that 4x4 stance! I just picked up a '66 F100 4x4 that is in need of a fair amount of work and I'm hoping to make it look similar to yours. Is that the stock height for a '63 F100 4x4 or has it been modified?

Are those door mirrors stock for the '63 F100?
Cheers!

hi Brent. No modifications to the height - it is stock. I chose 15” tires, but the original literature says the tires are purpose specific and lists sizes up to 20” … so mine looks extra high!
mirrors on these trucks had several options and yes - these are one of the original choices. In fact my mirrors are NOS from Ford.
I have some literature on the ‘66 - Give me your email and I’ll share.

From the factory your 66 F100 4x4 would not have had the high stance of the earlier F100 4x4's. 66 was the first year for the coils spring front suspension and the integral transfer case. It was even advertised as a new lower stance I believe. It's fairly easy to lift though if you want it higher.

Thanks, that makes sense. I just bought the truck so still sorting through everything but I did get it out last weekend and it drives quite nice, so I'll probably keep the height as is but may try for taller tires.
Thank you sir. I agree! The gent who restored it did a wonderful job!
Nice score on the pickup.
I have a '66 4x4 stylside and it does have the 4-speed with married one-speed transfer case.
It also has a 5 lug flanged axle Dana 60 rear-end. (would the flanged Dana-60 be an option) ?
The pickup has the solid front axle with coil springs, and real funky manual steering.
I like the clean engine bay and nice interior on your rig. Enjoy !!
Nice find! You will find the '63 4x4 will be a completely different animal than a '66 2wd. Like the '63 campaign slogan says 'Built like the big ones".
Okay folks ... life is too short to compromise, so I’m looking for my dream truck ...
I want a 1960’s Ford 4x4, style side. Gotta be in good shape ... really good shape preferred. I’m flexible on year and most variables, but my dream would be a 1963 (my birth year) wrongbed 4x4 that has been restored completely sometime since it rolled off the line. I’ve got cash and I’m serious. I’ve checked all the normal sources and can’t find much. Please reach out if you have one for sale or know who may. Thank you!
(Related note, I’m willing to sell/trade my 1966 F-100. CA built and owned until I bought it 6 months ago ... beautiful shape, almost completely original. Pics attached)
