Hey, I’ve got the programmer with the Rudy’s tunes but they told me they don’t do emissions delete any more.
With the tuner, what tunes can I buy that has the dpf & egr delete? Also Rudy’s tunes tires size only go up to 33” and I have 35’s on and planing to go up 37’s
im a bit of a noob to this 😬. I’ve got a lot of questions
Welcome to the forum. You are going to have to find the friend of a friend that knows the guys at a small shop that is still doing deletes. The EPA is ramping up with enforcement of these shops that do them and the companies that make the delete parts. Even the big players like Korey Willis Of PPE have gone legit because they had to. Other companies have paid big fines and some put out of business. Don't expect someone here to just publicly state where to get a delete. Someone may or may not PM you. But I would think you would have to know someone pretty well just to get you in the door to talk to a shop. These small shops have gone underground out of fear of enforcement by the Feds. I hear that here in my neighborhood, Western NY, that the state DOT along with the NYS Police are enforcing it now with the guys that have commercial trucks and have trailers to haul heavy equipment. But it may be different in your state.
Many of the flash tuners that were sold with canned tunes that the owners used for delete tunes on them with WiFi activated have updated and erased the delete tunes. If you are able to get delete tunes on your tuner, make sure you disable the WiFi. Also another problem to think of is that company support of these delete tunes is no longer available. You may be able to get support from the shop that tuned the truck though. Good luck.
That’s crazy. I’m really out of the loop. That truck has been deleted since 2014. Thanks for the advice. I live in eastern NC and my county does not do emissions. Only safety inspections.
Yes, the truck is deleted with Rudy’s diesel performance custom tunes. So I guess I’m curious about this screen, how it only goes to 34” but I’m running 35’s. But in a month I’ll be going from my leveling kit to a 6” lift and putting 37” tires.
So in that being said, I was curious in seeing what was out there with custom tunes. (Or better yet, here’s the question - does it matter that it only goes to 34” tires in the options?)
I guess no one has been able to crack the code to do more than 34" tires because no company I am aware of has larger than 34" options on the 2011 and newer trucks. Not like the good ole days when we could pick up to 48's!
No one is investing in delete tunes anymore because of the strong EPA and some States enforcement increases. The old days are gone but small shops are still doing deletes. I have two options if I ever need to, if I ever do. The future is cleaner and more efficient diesel engine technologies and emissions compliant tuning. That's just the fact, Jack.
