Tailgate delete
We recently purchased a 2018 F350 XL 4x4 long bed, with the intention of using it for hauling a truck camper.
As purchased, the truck had a canopy on it, so the bed camera wasn't really functional. The truck came with the tailgate delete kit (two of them, actually) containing two plugs/caps for the cables to the tailgate camera and lock.
The problem I'm having is that the plugs don't seem to *do* anything. Kinda want/need the cab-mounted camera to be functional for the purpose of loading the camper into the bed, but currently it does not work with the tailgate camera unplugged. Eventually we plan to get another camera for the back of the camper, and plug it in once the camper is loaded. That doesn't help much with the cab-mounted one while trying to load, though.
The plugs/caps in the kit don't look like much... haven't had a chance to put a meter on them, but they look like just pin-out connections - not sure how that's supposed to fix or 'delete' anything 🤔
What am I missing here?
