I had my 460 overhauled several years ago because the heads were cracked and pumping air (exhaust gas) into the cooling system. They replaced and rebuilt/overhauled those heads. Well later (about 5 years ago) it started doing it again if you pull a trailer with it. I don't why. Is this a common problem with all 460 heads or just certain castings? Are the exhaust ports prone to do this with stock manifolds? Do I need headers? Different model/casting number heads? Aluminum heads?
I'm also considering putting on a throttle body instead of a carburetor because I don't get to drive it often enough to keep it clean and running right. Any thoughts on that?
I just want to be able to use it to pull my gooseneck trailer with my my old '76 F-250 Custom again.
