Missing Door Handle Bolt Hole Plug in Door Jamb

So my 2021 arrived missing this plug in the door jamb. I had difficulty identifying the part number via Ford, and my Ford dealer, to order a replacement. I found the following information and wanted to share it.

Ford uses a Caplugs BPF 15/16 plug for this spot on all 4 doors. Unfortunately this plug is only available (from what I could find) in large quantities at any online supplier, like 200 or more. Also this plug fits a little loose, hence why falling out is common.

So I found that a Caplugs BPF-1" will fit perfectly, per Caplugs spec sheet it is slightly larger than the 15/16 but pretty darn close and available widely online in small quantities like 5 to 25 for a few bucks. I bought mine on Amazon and it snapped in tighter than the original and once installed it looks nearly identical to the 15/16 plug on the other doors. The tighter fit is a bit harder to install but once it is never falling out. I replaced all 4 with the large 1" and chucked the other three 15/16 plugs.

I could not find this information anywhere on the forum, nor on the SuperDuty Facebook groups, so I am sharing it here to add to the knowledge base.

Same issue on my 2019, One plug missing. I thought someone was into the door for some reason prior to purchasing the vehicle.

I just checked my 2020 and it is missing the drivers rear door. Do you have a link to the ones you purchased. I would like to replace all of mine as well.

Have a 2020 F350 and it's missing the driverside rear door plug.
Can you give me the part number you purchased.

maybe i missed the obvious, but its a brand new truck. have your dealer order said plug under warranty

its supposed to be there.

Check with the body shop at your dealer. They work with trim parts and plugs like these, daily.

...if they have one. My local dealer doesn't have a body shop.

My driver's side rear door plug kept falling out. Finally fell and missed it, so ordered a pack of these and they fit nice and tight. Will eventually replace the others as well.
