OK ..
I'm looking for a stall converter for the 385 base 545 stroker with a C6 in my IH. The motor and transmission are out of a 77 F250.. If I look for just one for a C6 I come up with two. but if I search for one for A 77 F250 and a 460 I get none available.
The ones that come up with just the C6 search have the right spline number and the right shaft size. But I'm not sure they'll bolt up to the flex.
Any Help would be appreciated. 3,000 stall, and truck is 4,500 Lbs.
Here's the one's that come up are on summit.
No difference in bolt circle that I'm aware of. You're in a big town call around and see if there is a converter rebuild shop there. They can make your converter whatever stall you want at half the cost of buying a new one.
HI Thanks for the reply's
Yes I'm having a local shop build it .. and we talked for quite a while and he talked about adding gussets so it wouldn't have a balloning problem..
He took the cam spec's and the weight of the truck in to consideration and where I wanted to shift at.. we also talked about changing the gear ratio of my C6 due to the weight of the truck.. $400. for the gear set and about 3 hrs labor to install them so about $700oo as long as the rest of the transmission is good and about an aluminum pan to help hold the transmission together. .. and the converter is only going to be around $400.oo
