Performance Issues/Low ICP
I am having some performance issues. This has come on over time and has gotten progressively worse over the last few months. To the point that I now have to hold the peddle to the floor when going up hill and still am barely able to maintain my speed. Got and Elm327 Bluetooth adapter and purchased Torque Pro. I am able to read my ICP, IPR etc... Here is what I see, at WOT and going uphill it shows ICP about 800 and IPR at 94%. Also have long starts, take about 3-4 seconds before the ICP pressure even begins to build, even when having been just shut off.
Now I have done allot in trying to figure out what is going on, I will run through that here:
- Unplugged my Hydra tuner. Everything below and the performance number above all from stock no tuner attached.
- Replaced ICP and IPR with new Motorcraft. After replacing IRP I have not see it register above 64%.
- Inspected wires and harnesses for issues.
- No visible leaks.
- Dead headed the HPOP and each oil real individually as well as all together with a manual 5K PSI gauge. Every test showed 3900PSI. (I replaced the HPOP about 2 years ago with a Bosche reman) Unplugged the valve cover harnesses during the testing to make sure the engine would not start.
- Replaced EBP sensor and cleaned the tube.
- Checked fuel pressure. I had upgraded the spring in it about a year ago. If found it was pushing 90PSI. I know that is high so I put the old spring back in and it is back down to the 60 range now.
- Did the air test into the IPR port. didn't find any air leaking from the injectors but after about 10min of 120PSI air i would start to get air bubbling into my HPOP reservoir. Not sure if that is an issue. I talked to Dieselsite and they didn't seem to think that was an issue. Said that pumps aren't air tight.
- Unplugged the ICP and test drove. Noticed when going up hill WOT the PCM was showing 2400 on the ICP even though I was only getting 800PSI. I assume the 2400 was what the computer was requesting but I never get that in that situation.
- HPOP res was draining down over night. That seems to have stopped after replacing the IPR. Not sure if that even makes sense.
- At the start of my performance issues I pull all the injectors inspected them and installed new O rings on them. (about a year ago)
Any ideas? I feel like I have exhausted just about everything. I must be missing something. I want to say pump, but I am told it is performing above expected results hilling 3900PSI when dead headed. Maybe the injectors? They are stock and the originals.
Thanks for the help!
