I had squirrel damage last year to my F150, insurance covered the damage, so check with your agent to see if it is covered. Mine was chewed up in about 8 places and around $2300 in damage to have it all repaired.
Prior I had fixed a couple of wires myself, but also tried moth *****, mint spray, and a few other things to try and keep them out. I found lead poisoning was the thing that stopped most of it, but parking inside was my final solution.

Hi,
We are currently experiencing these problems with our 2017 Ford F350. On Saturday we drove to a nearby town and all was well. We got back to the truck and it started but we had no dash lights, no AC, no mirror controls and the front windows did not go down but the rear did. It was towed to Firestone and they got tons of error codes and told us we needed a new wiring harness and many other things. They told us to have it towed to FORD. We did and now it's not doing any of the things it did before. They did, however find damage near the batteries and evidence of rodents. One of the batteries was just replaced last month. I am hoping that they can find what was causing all the dash items not to work. Our insurance is paying for it under the comprehensive coverage My sister had this device installed and says that it worked immediately. We are in an RV park in a spot right by the woods. I am sure we will need to get the device and peppermint or other deterrents to keep this from happening again.
I slide an 8 ft LED light tube under the truck at night. Its controlled by a timer to come on dusk to dawn. Rodents are active at night and dont like light is my basis for doing this. Truck is parked in a barn. So far no more problems with rodents in or on the truck.
