I was reading.. I need to confirm this.. As ya'll know the 36k Mile Warranty is up on my truck and I'm only at 27k miles.. If something is wrong with the engine and I have to take it in for the 100k Mile Warranty, if Ford sees the CATs are gone will they void me?
What is ford's position on Cats/Mufflers.. I have this 5" Straight Exhaust System I'm getting, but now I'm wondering if I should get the CAT Replacement Pipes... There's no option for me to put the CAT in if I have to go in.. I don't have time like that to crawl under, drop everything and put a CAT back in..
So my option is A) I keep the CAT and delete the Muffler or B) I ditch the CAT and Ford doesn't void me on it..
Use never sieze on the bolts for the cat delete option, save the cat for re-install if anything arises that would be speculative. Of course, go talk to the dealer you plan on using for service/warranty what their position is on the exhaust mods.
Got a similar situation on my new '06. Replaced the cat with a 'Test pipe.' Love that whistlin' sound. Have to get it inspected next month. The dealer does it free for life. Will post the results.
