My drivers side from door is very rattily so I've read about the door seal mod on here. I've been looking through old posts and there are so many different recommendations for tubing I thought I'd ask again since all the posts I read are very old.
It seems latex is better than vinyl? I read some say to use 3/8 OD and some say 3/8 OD is too big and door is very hard to close and to use 1/4 OD.
Thoughts?
So what gives? I've never heard of this mod, your doors leak, OEM rubber is no good? Sorry for being such an n00b.
The door seals get soft over the years. You can reinforce them by fishing some tubing through them and they will again make a nice good thump seal. Cheaper than replacement.

Gotcha, good to know. Ya, I had never heard of that trick, necessity truly is the mother of invention.
I ended up buying 50 ft of the 3/8 OD from amazon. Did both front doors in about 20 minutes. They are much tighter now, but not too hard to shut. Will kinda pop open now. Much better!
I don't know for sure that there will be enough to do the back doors though out of the 50 foot. Best I can tell, about 16-18ft left is all
Thanks!
