Thoughts on this engine noise.
92 f250 rebuilt 351w was told it has some form of cam. (The exhaust leaks are horrible I know lol) this noise starter tonite, to me it doesn’t sound internal…. Thoughts? New alternator but that’s what it sounds like to me…..

I agree with you, doesn't sound internal. Maybe bad bearings on one of the pulleys? Or maybe fan shroud?

Pull the belt, and fire it up, that will tell you if it's an external noise.

Well I pulled the belt and same noise so I did some more digging and it turns out the egr tube nut was completely loose rattling away so tightened it and it’s gone thanks for the input!
