Just got my truck back, and was going over the list of things that was replaced.all the fluids were changed but noticed their was no oil filter on the list,so I go out and look and sure enough the old one is on the truck!so before I go in tomorrow raising 9 kinds you know, should the filter have been replaced?
What's the issue? The oil filter isn't covered in the repair, look at the FSM for the repair. This was a repair for a oil pan leak done under warranty.
You didn't pay for a oil and filter change. You brought the truck in for warranty work. The repair materials and labor are calculated out, they did their part if the repair was completed.
Your right I didn’t pay for a service job.I just paid 75 grand for a truck that shouldn’t have had an oil leak that soon, not to mention the 2 draglinks they already have had to replace, you would have thought after all that a 20 dollar filter would have been courtesy since nobody changes oil and not the filter
Courtsey and emotions are not in the written warranty. This is like assuming you are entitled to a rental while it's in for repair. Also be warned that after the 3/36 that fluids, belts and hoses are excluded and they often show up on supplemental bills even on warranty repairs.
my filter had been on for about 5 months and was faded
I would put a new filter on and take your business to a different dealer no matter how far you must drive. Customer satisfaction is very important for warranty work, once your warranty is up is when the dealer starts making money from customer loyalty. I for one am fiercely loyal when I've been treated good.
My dealer does a pretty good job for the most part, plus they are only 10 minutes from my house,I was just wondering why they would have put the old filter back on.
I figured some would fail to see a problem.the point I’m trying to make is,why put new upper pan,a lower pan,13 quarts of fresh oil,16 quarts of tranny fluid, and 5 gallons of antifreeze,if your just going to put the old faded unknown how many miles was on to begin with back on.
