OD light on

1995 7.3 rebuilt transmission has less than 10,000 miles on it. OD light comes on shifts hard. Can remove ground battery cables and it fixes the problem temporarily.

Disconnecting the battery clears the codes, which also clears the failure management. The ONLY way this will get fixed is by starting by reading the codes.
The places that read codes free CANNOT read these codes. The best way is Forscan, which you can download free at www.forscan.org. Or you could take it to a good independent shop or a Ford dealer to read the codes.
