I've had the truck to a mechanic and the whole front end checked out. He couldn't find any reason it was giving me fits. alright so here's the issue. when driving down the road the steering will get tight and start pulling. I have to turn the steering wheel the opposite direction of the pull until it releases. once it releases the truck bounces from side to side. Imagine your a ball between 2 boards and just bouncing off each side. It will stop after a min(feels a lot longer) I'm at a loss and so is the mechanic. Anyone have this issue.
Its not an all the time occurence, driving tonight it started acting a fool. I pulled over put it in park and turned the wheel all the way to the right and then left. I could hear something pop and then it drove fine. Short of blowing this beast up lol. I'm waiting on a new gear boprobably not the problem) I've already done tie rods and steering stabilizer. I hate to keep throwing money into this truck.
Had the same thing going on with my 03 F350 replaced ball joints, tie rods, Links and hub assemblies. Then I adjusted the Gearbox and it helped a lot. I sometimes still get to where the steering gets heavy and it'll pull to the right for a little while, then if I turn a corner it'll be fine. So the next step for me would be to replace the gearbox.
