LEAKING GAS
The guy rewired a bunch of stuff. It has a push button to start the truck. Put key into on pos. then push button. Starts really quick, every time. I put a new battery in.
Fuel gauge doesnt work. Rear fuel pump doesnt work. Guy had a clear hose to siphon gas from rear tank, semi permanently installed. He told me the rear tank will fill up and overflow, then you have to siphon the gas out.
Ok, so I can hear the front pump turn on when I put the key in on pos.
Today, I was headed to the gas station, guess I miscalculated, and I ran out of gas. I have run out before, so I carry a spare bottle to fill from rear tank. Every time I have done it, it started and ran no problem.
Today however, I was going up hill when it ran out. I put about 7 gallons in it, primed the fuel intake several times, it would start then die. I thought because of the hill, the gas is maybe not getting to the pump. But with that amount, I thought it would.
All of a sudden a bunch of gas started leaking all over out the back. It was coming from the rear tank. I turned the key off, leak stopped. Turned it back on leak started. rinse, repeat.
Im having it towed in the morning.
any ideas ? Im gonna u tube it. thanks in advance
Hey thanks bunches man. I really appreciate replies. With covid I have been hit hard, one friend, employee died, wife decided to leave me ....and now the bad news lol.
Im actually working on this now as we speak.
The weird thing about this is the gas was coming from the top of the tank, not thru the filler hose like everyone else has.
So, I followed the hoses to the back, and when I grabbed one, it as completely hanging loose. I think I found my prob.
So now, there is already an access hole to the rear tank, all I have to do is cut thru the bed liner and that should be about it.
Oh, except for the one ton of trash in the back of my truck, lol JK, its only half a ton.
