I use 4 oz ish PM22A when normally filling at 1/4 tank with the silly 26 gal short bed fuel tank. It's just easier to keep track of 4oz (five fills) with that measurement. If filling at 1/2 tank or greater, I don't add any.

Edit: it's been a little wet around lately though so might just be from puddles. Definitely something I'll watch
if you don’t see any oily type drips on the ground after it’s parked then is probably not with worrying about.
BTW, my first suggestion for accessories is rear wheel well liners especially if you live in snow (salt) country. Also a trailer ball hitch. Even if you don’t tow with a ball hitch (didn’t I see a B&W 5th wheel adapter under the bed) it serves as an extended bumper. Save me bumper repairs 3 times from dummies who were “distracted”. The best one was a person in a new Volvo who told me her brakes didn’t work. No damage to me but her car has a sizable hole through her grill and it hit her hood latch. I told her to have a nice day and drove home.

Yes, the wheel well liners sounds good! It does have the B&W flippable ball thankfully with a 7 way in the bed which was a nice surprise. Also thankfully I don't live in salt county anymore. Used to live in Denver but moved to west Texas sometime ago. Actually based on last winter, we may have to start doing salt if winters are going to be like last winter. The winter apocalypse was insane!

I'll keep watching the wet parts plus I am going to do fluid and filter flush for the transmission soon so I'll get it nice and evenly snug up. My old 5.3 had exhaust right under the pan so that was a huge pain to work with. I never got the filter out but did swap fluid with the cooler lines but now I can completely drop the pan no problem.

Researching dpf forscan change at the moment. I did a good number of changes with forscan on my 3.5 Ecoboost so somewhat familiar with it. I got the extended license a few weeks back while I was waiting on the upper pan swap.

I added remote start today so getting going. Super excited for the new beast! Also excited for this community and hope I can help others in the future

Hey Matt,

Welcome to the club. I just traded my '16 F-150 for my '17 F-250 in Sept and this is my first go-round with a diesel. I've been a mechanic most of my life so I'm not a stranger to engines. I've done very minimal work on diesels, but it is, after all, just an engine. Built a little different than a gasser, but it's still an engine. I've done fuel filter changes and oil changes on mine, replaced the batteries, done a few ForScan changes and am thoroughly loving this beast!!! Mine had just under 60k on it when I bought it, but the previous owner took care of it. It's had some front suspension parts swapped out (OEM parts so I'm gonna say warranty work) but other than that, the only thing I had to replace was the cold side intercooler tube and the upper radiator hose. The cold side tube blew and got oil on the radiator hose, so for safety's sake, I changed them both. So far, 6k miles on it since I bought it and no other problems.

Be sure to ask if you have any questions. These guys are not only smart, but they're real friendly too. They're glad to give you advise and opinions and they'll even make you laugh a little.

At the risk of agitating some of the members which is not the intent. I have belonged to many forums over the years and there are folks of all types who join these. Most low posters are on the find the answer to a problem and seldom post when the fixed it. some are on to simply bad mouth the product. Some are super worriers who question everything and worry about it more. Some( my favorites!) are the tinkerers who figure stuff out and post what they have done, fixed, screwed up or otherwise share valuable information. Some folks are the givers of advice. iot goes on and on. My experiences with the Ford( which i have shared on another thread for almost 7 years) are posted and trying to be non biased. i have owned a 7.3 non turbo, 2 powerstroke 7.3s, 1 6.0 and then this 6.7. i have had good luck with them all but have had a couple of issues too( the 6.0 EGR cooler is world infamous) but it was a good truck. My slave cylinder went out on one of my 7.3 manuals at an intersection and those brakes didn't even try to slow it down. Got thru that with out dying. The 6.7 is a great motor. I don't add fuel additives, i change the oil when it tells me, i drive short distances and long distances mostly pulling a trailer. It is deleted and i run a tuner set in tow mode. I had a couple of bolts break on my egr by pass. I need to change the cac hose but the big old clamps i have on there now are now 2 years old. I just pulled 2500 miles without worry. it is big, load, rattles. It does not roll coal or even leave residue on my pipe of truck bed. Rest easy, keep reading and learning and drive the crap out of it. You have a vehicle that will last for years!

Appreciate it! I just did tht first Regen but then I had to eventually get to work. Brought the DPF% From 100 to 33. It was still going but I needed to go. Seems quiter after that. Might be just me. We go camping this weekend so excited to check that out (first time in 6.7).

When you say big clamps, what are you referring to? I know the cold side needs an upgrade but interested in the clamps you have.

Thanks!

Episode of what I was referring to

Hard to hear but turn up the volume and let me know if this is normal. Finally took it out with the 30 ft bumper pull.

The Ecoboost had a lot of power. Very similar but the f250 was planted and never came close to overheating (213 oil temp was highest). Transmission temp was around 200 for the trip. The rattle was my only concern

I had my volume on full max and could not hear anything out of the ordinary. The more miles you get, the more it may rattle as i have noticed mine is a little louder. Nothing like my 7.3 or 6.0...
The diesel engine runs on compression ignition.
I had a toy hauler camper with 3500 axles and loaded with bikes and quads along with water and camping gear. i was notorious for burning up those wheel bearings because my trucks motor didn't even try pulling that trailer and even though i would grease the bearing, i also overloaded the trailer and drove way too fast. i am looking for a car hauler now and want 5200 or 7000 pound axles to get the heavier bearings. I forced myself to stay under 75 when i pulled my TJ to jeep beach last month.
You will notice your fuel economy will change drastically with speed and when the wind is blowing at you or against you. I like the south wind when going north, lol.

This is some great insight to be sure. You have way more experience with the oil burners than I do. Like I've posted before, if it has ***** or tires, you're gonna have problems.

I really couldn't hear anything out of the ordinary as well. Nice set up man. Hope to have one of those one day...

I've noticed that my truck with 74k miles is louder as well. I'm curious to see if the AirDog will have an effect on that as I've heard it's supposed to idle quieter. I will see...

Thanks for your insight.

With headphones and several replays, I didn't hear anything out of the ordinary either. While 6+ years older, my dash and truck have various rattles depending on RPM and MPH.

Once you get used to, you'll love it and not worry so much. Coming from the Ecoboost to the 6.7 is a big upgrade. Way more torque and power... This is my first diesel and I still haven't tired of driving it. Still puts a smile on my face everyday...

I made an adjustment on the equilizer and the way home was so easy. 70 with cruise control 80% of the way. I've never been able to use cc before so that was a big shock

I left it in 5th as it seemed happier there with RPMs around 2k.

I was pretty excited when I got home how less stressed I am compared to the past where I got pushed around the road, watching temps on coolant/trans but not on this trip.

The travel trailer is a tad nose up. I have to order a longer down shank to get the nose a bit lower. I'm sure that will make it even easier which is crazy.

Thanks guys!
