Great Mileage

Decided to drive the truck (2017 6.7 CCSB F250) from San Clemente CA to Phoenix. Decided to use the truck because it has a spare where the car doesn't. Granted we were unloaded, but I was amazed that we got 18.3 mpg (calculated) while running at 75 mph the whole way. While there, we took a side trip to Flagstaff and on the way back Phoenix (granted that it is essentially downhill the whole way) we got a calculated 21.3 mpg. My old 2009 6.4 was lucky to get 12mpg when dropped off a cliff (usually averaged around 10 mpg). 6.7 is a pretty amazing engine.

That's great mileage!

our new 2021 F350 DRW Lariat is reporting an average of 17 mpg around our mountainous terrain. About 70% freeway and 30% city (town) driving combined.
We're at 3200 feet elevation and a run into "town" is 30 miles of 65 mph driving to and fro.

Currently since I'm working from home most of my driving is city and getting roughly 14.5mpg.
Did my first longer trip over the weekend to take the wife and kid to visit my MIL. 160 miles round trip 90% hwy - got 21.4mpg.
For our 2021 F350 SCREW DRW 4x4 with 4.10 gears I was more than pleased.
Granted the couple of times I've hand calculated at fill ups it's been about 1mpg lower than the readout.
Either way, not what I bought the truck for but for this much more truck to get roughly the same as my previous 2019 f150 5.0 that I had, I'm happy.

From: So Cal
My '11 6.7 historically got 15.8 MPG overall over the 194K miles I drove it.
Towing would drop it down to 10.8 MPG pulling a heavy 5er.
I always got smokin mileage on my trips back and forth to Phoenix from So Cal. Set the cruise and enjoy the trip. I'd always see in the 16's and 17's during those runs and even tipped into the 18's on occasion.
All these were hand calculated as I kept a log/spreadsheet of my miles driven and fuel used.
Here's some more interesting tidbits:
In 10 years and 19 days that I owned the truck, I purchased 13,149.425 gallons of diesel and spent $46,920.349.
Highest amount ever paid for fuel $4.699
Lowest amount ever paid for fuel $1.799

Now my '08 wouldn't see that kinda mileage if i rolled it off a cliff. I really liked the truck, but that was the worst mileage truck I've ever owned.

2018 F350 DRW 4x4 3.55s and I get 18Mpg+ at 70mph. Giver her a tail wind and 20.5mpg will happen. Give it a head wind and 17mpg.
weight reduction help a ton. Before the weight reduction, 14.5mpg was the best i ever saw at 70mph.

Weight watchers program helped my truck a lot as well. Best thing I have done to the truck so far.

Same dually I have except that I have 4:10s. I get 17mpg with a tail wind going downhill with just me and cruise set at 70mph on Florida’s flatlands.
What weight reductions did you do?
