Surprisingly poor city mpg

I'm new to the 6.7 and was expecting pretty good mileage from it, however, I currently live in Boston and am doing a lot of city driving. Today, I got 12mpg (unloaded, no tow), which kind of surprised me. Normally on the highway it is great; 20+ Anyone else driving in a city experience this?

I average 14/15 when doing a lot of in town driving, heavy truck to stop and start, can't be good for the mpg. I think the city driving will cause you to have more regens as well which will affect your mpg.

Yep, 12.6-14.5 and I don't even get 20mpg on the highway. Best my truck shows on the interstate is 17-18 and this is trying to get good mpg's.

My truck does best on back country roads with few stop signs. 45-50 mph 20 -22 mpg. Highway 17-18 mpg. Town with lots of stops 13-14 mpg.

It takes a lot of energy to get 4 and a 1/2 tons moving.

Yeah, I've noticed more regens as well. Unfortunate system...

So, an unloaded 6.7L gets ~1.5 mpg better than the 6.2L on the hwy, correct?
