You would be surprised at how much insurance will pay for a bumper. Take it to a shop and get a real estimate, not the drive thru insurance ones. They will low ball you.
The big bumpers are a bit much if you don't have a need or a fear. I drive 2.5 hours one way to and from deer / turkey / fishing camp 40 or more times a year. It's all 2 lane country roads through deer infested farming country. Been fortunate so far but a deer to radiator collision could leave me walking a long way at night. I chose the bumper for peace of mind.

i do a fair share of hunting camping as well so it may be something for me to consider
i'll take it to car crafters this week and see what they say
I did build a Move bumper. Got it during a black Friday sale. It took a while to fit it together, and then I sent it out for sandblasting and powder coat...which was an additional 400.
That is one of the cleanest and best looking bumper/grille combinations I have seen Dan. Not oversized or overbearing, but certainly capable of getting the job done if needed.

Dan's a perfectionist. You should have heard him whine about the pinholes in the welds that can only be seen with a microscope. I swear he was going for an IP67 seal.

I did not track my hours, because it was a fun project - but I spent a LOT of time fitting the MOVE bumper together. A helper with THUMBS would have made it much easier/faster.
