Apparently the ¨OBD II CODES¨ thread in the TECHNICAL SECTION is down......
I´ve got a constantly lit CEL on the dash of my 2006, 2.3L, 5-spd, XLT Ranger.
Can someone point me to where I can read my codes without a scanner?
I suspect it my be my throttle positioning sensor going bad, based on some of the symptoms, but it is basically running ok yet.
Thanks in Advance for any and all assistance, Fellas!
As posted, a few auto parts stores can read your code for free. Also, cheap obdII scanners can be had on Amazon for under $25. No, they won't fix your ABS problems, but they will read and clear a fault code. It's worth having one just so you can read your code, look up the fault online and study for a fix while not having to listen to a pushy counter jockey.
You can download Forscan at www.forscan.org. It's a free download. You'll also need an adapter to plug into the OBDII port. The Forscan website tells you how to pick one. I bought mine from Amazon for less than $30. Forscan can read ALL of the codes in the vehicle.
