A very bittersweet day has arrived. The ole girl has been getting long in the tooth for quite a while. Brought her home in 2007 with 167,000 miles. Since then she’s seen countless sets of tires, windshields, oil changes and even an engine change. Yet she is reliable as always and she has done me very well. She’s pulled my camper and construction trailers all over the place and also pulled her weight while snow plowing for 8 years. A culmination of all the above in addition to my location in the rust belt has slowly ate her away (literally) and I am almost scared to walk in the bed anymore as the “rice crispy pops” from under the bed liner are almost deafening. So with the feeling of betrayal on my heart, I started the truck shopping process- which I hate. Used car shopping is the worst! However, after a month or so of ups and downs and many debates over if I wanted to stick with a diesel or go gas. In the end I do think it came together. I picked up a very clean 2016 F-250 Crewcab 4x4 with the 6.2L w/ a stack of maintenance records in the glove box, and a beautiful Blue Jean Metallic paint. I will come check in from time to time and will not leave the forum.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been a contributor to this forum. When I bought my 7.3 I didn’t know anything about diesel and everyone here has always been helpful and supportive. Over the years I have done water pumps, engine swaps, etc thanks to you guys. So thank you again to all for helping make this forum then best online hands down.
Is this a breakup post? This feels like a breakup post 😂 But Seriously, you guys were great and I look forward to getting to know the new truck and the new crew....
We will never fault you for making a decision based on what your families needs are. We will and do commend you for taking the steps neccessary to secure your way of life.
You have been and are a critical component to this community. You will always be welcome here and hope you stop by from time to time.
Nice looking truck, hope it serves you well. There's a guy or two around here who would love to have the engine out of that old one. I hope you don't let it go to a scrap yard.
I actually was going to start with that route Mark. Had a buddy in Georgia looking at the auto auctions for a crewcab with a blown engine or something and I was gonna swap my stuff over. But it just never came around.
Now I just have to figure out what to do with the piles of parts I have acquired over the last 14 years of ownership. 😬

This is an idea that I have toyed with in my mind a little. The gassers of the era are actually pretty cheap but I don't know how hard they are to come by. Conversion to 7.3 from V10 doesn't look too awfully difficult if you have a donor for the other parts, which I do. My DD is not going to go too many more years and...well...man has to have a truck.
Nice upgrade! But really, these are just trucks after all...rubber and metal to get us form point A to B. Hope you check in. Man it is hard to imagine rust just eating away a vehicle, but I have seen photos and videos of it. They need to do away with road salt once and for all.
Side note....did you happen to drive the 7.3 gasser anywhere? I keep hearing and reading good things.
Bullet proof engine and trans you won't be disappointed.
That was a solid combo. Too bad they don't offer it any longer. Some haven't been real happy with that 10 speed behind the gas motors on the newer ones.
