PHP Hydra Chip tunes
This video, at about the 18:00 time stamp provides a decent idea of what I am referring to as the "better" way. This is for a TS6 chip, but the principle is the same, or at the very least very similar. A couple of months ago I helped a friend install a Hydra on his 7.3L and we took the same method and it worked very well. The USB cable is small and can be routed out of the PCM hard case, through the PCM black plastic case and coiled up under the dash. This is the method that most of us use as it allows for quick and easy access to the chip via the free software (Hydra Flash) if/when needed.
Once you get your tunes dialed in though and know which you like and at what positions, you will most likely not plug into the Hydra again via the USB cable. But, you paid for the chip and the cable, so you should at least have it in your possession.
He may or may not have written the tunes himself with the Minotaur software. That is a real thing and several FTE'rs have ventured down that path. So, I am not saying that he did or did not use Minotaur software and write his own tunes for you.
That Kubota is nice! We live in the country in north GA and there is ALWAYS work that needs to be done on the land. It is a great way to live life though and we are grateful for the opportunity to live the way we do.
You have a good weekend as well and just know that you have learned a lot and we are here to help.
