Drove to work this morning. Wet weather. Got off the highway and stopped for coffee and a bagel. Got back in the truck and MIL stayed lit on restart (Check Engine, not Wrench). Truck was acting like the TPS was faulty - would only roll forward at idle, surged for a few seconds, ran forward at idle, repeat...). I pulled over, restarted the truck and MIL stayed lit. Truck drove "normally" the rest of the way to work (about 1.5 miles). My cheesy OBDII scanner pulled "P0136" which is O2 sensor voltage.
It doesn't seem like an o2 sensor would cause this level of drivability issue.
Thanks, cpobst. I have already had one run-in with the connector back there by the spare tire. I have made two payments on the truck, so far. I guess every time I send a check I should massage that connector.
This is exactly what I was afraid of when forced to buy a "modern" truck.
