This past weekend the new truck got it's first ding, I think at the lowes parking lot. Parking lot ding.
I'm not sure it's worth the $500 insurance deductible to get it fixed. I had called a couple of paint-less dent removal places, but none of them wanted to work in it since the scratches are into the metal and the fact it is aluminum.
Today I had an order show up from a shop on Etsy that I had ordered back when I had my F150 that got a bunch of squirrel damage this past winter. One of the smaller stickers came in handy for the uglier scratch.
Wow, great idea.
I know the first is always the hardest.
My poor '11 had dents in 3 of the 4 fenders and the tailgate.
One of the dents in the fender I did, or was at the wheel when the mechanical gate closed on me...
The remainder where from someone else while I was parked in a parking lot.
I used to travel a lot for work, and after almost 200K miles, my poor truck had been in a lot of parking lots overnight and the body showed it.
I used to park WAY WAY out away from others, but as it got dinged up, I didn't do that much.
Now with the new steed on the way, I'll be parking way out again - and maybe even cones and police tape around it when I park.
Such a good attitude... I dont know how I would feel if my truck got a ding like that....to be honest I need a scratch or ding for me to get over keeping my truck looking new for as long as possible.
I have a communter truck with 296k on it. I take it everywhere and dont worry about dings or scratches...My '20 F350 stays in the garage and I dont drive it if I dont have too... I also dont take it where I have to park it. I need a cure for this sickness. I need help !!

Best part of old trucks is not having to worry...and merging into traffic...."MOVE OVER, I GOT A VEHICLE I DON'T GIVE A S**** ABOUT...."
And insurance is dirt cheap with liability only.

take a screw driver or some such sharp tool and put a scratch in it yourself. Go in house and go to sleep!

Or just jack knife your 5th wheel into the cab. 150,000 miles ago. Never got the dent fixed. It keeps my attitude straight and most people don't even notice it. (the dent, not my attitude) It turns out the 5th wheel will clear without sliding IF the street and driveway are flat level. But if either or both are elevated they touch. I got lazy and took a chance.
OMG you guys are making me cry laughing here at work!
I've done that in the past on my motorcycle helmet when I dropped it in the parking lot.
And also on a used car I had, one sticker on each side of the car. Darn wish I had a pic.

The larger sticker went on the back bumper...
Gotta like your style.....your a bigger man than I. Never thought of that.
