Any Opinions About TC 2.0L GBII or 2.5 i-VCT engines?
Any Opinions About TC 2.0L GBII or 2.5 i-VCT engines?
Am looking to possibly purchase a new Transit Connect. Any opinions about which of the engines is more reliable? One option is the 2.0 gas direct injection and the other is the 2.5L variable cam shaft timing (which sounds like future troubles).
I had a '90 E150 with a straight 6 300 that lasted me nearly 300,000 miles and my '95 F350 7.3L is still treating me pretty good as well. I think I've either been spoiled or just had good luck. I'd like to replace my '15 Pilot with a new TC.

I suppose I should have asked: What engine do you have in your TC and have you had any issues?
And what's the secret to changing the signature? I have a '15 Pilot right now and not a '17.

2020 Connect XL 2.0L Cargo Zero issues with the engine, However from the get go the transmission has had a shuddering issue which is typical. We're finally looking to take care of that in a few weeks as I've located a shop willing to handle the trans service at 60K miles. However, I did have a code a few years back which states that we have a EGR valve issues, But the code was cleared and the van has been running great since. But just to be safe and because our emissions is coming up. we'll replace the EGR valve before Nov 2024
