The DEF 6.7 engines doesn’t use any diesel fuel for regen’s do they ?

Does the 2017 & newer Six7’s still have an EGR system similar to the old Six4’s that injects & re-Burns part of the sooty exhaust ?

I deleted my old 6.4 myself completely removing the coolers, EGR, throttle stepper motor thingy & Replacing the intake elbow.

I hadn’t studied up or know much about my 2016 & 2019 nor am
i deleting them lol I love them being QUIET

6.7 still uses EGR. Significantly dialed back.. They still use fuel for the regen program.

The DEF is injected as an aftertreatment to deal with NOX and the higher temps while towing.

6.7 retains more heat in the exhaust while towing thus reducing the amount of regens. More passive regen's are completed due to this but you use more def.

My 2013 could go around 1600 miles passively regen while heavy towing. and I got about 4500 miles per 5 gal tank of def.

My 2020 so far can exceed around 1100 miles heavy towing but a tank of def, now 7 gallons, lasts about 3000 miles. 2020 has signicantly more HP/TQ therefore more def is used.

Best advice is to get a monitor so you can see the important temps and know when the truck is doing its thing so you don't shut it down when so hot and dillute the crankcase with fuel.
