Hello, my 1992 F-150 engine has developed a slight knocking noise. Using a stethoscope I have isolated it to the water pump. The pump was changed in 1999. There are no leaks. Has anyone had any experience with the pump making a knock? Just wanted to get some opinions before I pull the pump off. I really hope that is the problem, because the other options are going to cost a lot more. TIA
Mine was rattling and knocking some before I changed it several months ago. Mine was last changed in the late '90s also.
Good luck finding a good pump. The new ones are crap, and the heater hose pipe placement and fitment is hit and miss, usually miss. I ended up ordering a Ford reman off Ebay from a certified Cardone seller after the heater hose pipe wouldn't stay in the new AZ one.
