So I think I've read every post on every forum about this and I still can't figure mine out..
No throttle response, guages work, found a worn spot on shifter wire and fixed it, no fuses blown. Didn't help
Bought new shifter, no fuses blown,, still didn't help..
Bought new throttle pedal assembly,, I have the non adjustable one without the secon idle sensor. Didn't help..
I've tried all combinations of old shifter, new pedal... old pedal,, new shifter etc.. no help..
I disconnected batteries overnight, no help..
Obviously... I need help..
Any would be appreciated.
Might be a long shot but can you put a scanner on it and see your codes. Check the connector for the tps sensor and inspect pins and trace the wiring for chaffing.
Do you have a way to monitor the PCM PID's with a scan tool? You can use the tool to check fro the throttle position as you push on the skinny pedal. That will tell what the PCM is or is not seeing.
As mentioned before, we have seen pedal assemblies from the parts stores be garbage out of the box. There was a thread about a year ago where the owner tried 3 different manufacturers until paying for a Motorcraft. The Motorcraft worked, the others didn't.
Due diligence and proper testing should be performed prior to spending any more coin though. We never recommend throwing parts at the problem, we like to offer sound and reasonable advice.
Well, It wasn't quite THAT long ago, around last Jan, Still...... 1st. Check your PIDs for Throttle Position sensor and Accelerator sensor. They are 2 completely different waveforms. The TPS signal going to the PCM is very precise, and if said PCM doesn't see EXACTLY the proper timing in relation to the accelerator movement, It will be a No Go until it's swapped out. This is what happened to me with a Adjustable Pedal assembly that I tried to cheap out on 3 times using New Rebuilt Chi Com parts. 2 of them, the Timing was off completely, the 3rd didn't work out of the Box.....All were Troubleshot Using AE, But I believe Foreskin will work too so.... The MUCH cheaper Static / Non-Adjustable ones tend to work better, But I now will only suggest replacing them with OEM.....I may be ignorant, but I Ain't Stupid. Don't be like Me.....
Oh, and the TPS and Idle sensor are one in the Same on either Pedal assembly. The PIDs are Accelerator Pedal Sensor and Idle Validation sensor......FYI
