So I bout an LED replacement set for most of the dash and indicator lights after I installed them everything worked well. The only odd thing was the right blinker would glow steady when it was not engaged in either left or right settings. Since it was working I cleaned up the trim, replaced the broken NSS, replaced both tail light sockets and assys and put everything back together. Now I have no illumination of the gauges, light/wiper illumination or radio illumination. The high beam indicator and blinkers still work (same problem with right signal being illuminated between turn signaling). My go to move of disassembling and wiggling connectors has not saved me. Anybody have any tips on trouble shooting this one? I tested the pads for the illumination bulbs and got zip between the two sides.
I'm gonna follow this, because my right indicator started doing that. I also have LED bulbs. I do know that my turn signal switch needs replacing. That could be our problem. I've had a new turn signal switch sitting in the "future project" box for over a year.
In my experience with the glowing turn signal, it's usually caused by the vertical metal grounding strip on the inside of the socket. They corrode or break off completely. New socket assemblies are easily available at the major parts stores. Hope this helps.
for the accessory illumination issue, check to make sure you didn't blow fuse number 2.
Winner Winner chicken dinner! I owe you a coke. Funny thing is I checked continuity on the fuses cause that was my first thought. I pulled #2 and it was gone. Thanks.
