I have been tuning up the beast. Running strong for 214K. however, under the hood,, passenger side is the "Coffee Can" with vac lines,, all seem ok. on my truck there is another similar "Can" in the engine compartment. very close by with larger hose that runs down into the block crank shaft level. The the other end has a flex metal hose seems original and it is currently around 10' long and open to the engine compartment. I have not been able to find a name or function for this. It does seem to draw a pretty stout vacume when I cap my hand over it,, Any help will be appricated
My description was not the best, I'm fairly sure a hose comes off the smog pump up to the plastic cylinder. My bewilderment comes from the other end of said canister. That is where the flex metal pipe comes out and is just sitting there and I have no clue where or what that pipe/likely broken off attaches to
OK,, Thank you, seems like all the other broken vac lines or those that break when you look at them etc. go from point A to point B,, somewhere,,, After the tune up I started having the check engine light come
on and goes off while driving intermittenly. I thought that vac side of that system might be the cause. It idles and runs smooth and stout so I guess I will continue to scout about for other issues.
