What is this hose?

My truck started idling hard, and when I parked it I noticed the drivers side of the engine was wet and that this hose had fallen against the engine. I assume it melted (though I can't find a hole with my eyes...) and spilled on the engine, but cannot find what the hose carries or what it is. It seems to connect to a small line or sensor on the passenger side and on the drivers side it goes somewhere with several other lines near the fuse box.

97 PSD.
