For the cost of their 2.5's I choose to run Fox on my 20,I did king on my 19. The Elka doesn't have the support like the others when it comes to rebuilds and custom valving. If you are in Canada this would be easier and you wouldn't be paying customs duty on a rebuild.
When buying premium rebuildable shocks, the first thing I do is look for service parts availability as well as the availability of service information. Though it's been a long time since I've considered Elka shocks, I don't think they do well on either of those two points. Most Fox and King parts and information are readily available.
I remember when Elka debuted in the ATV world. It seemed like overnight, everyone was running them and they were the talk of the town. I was always a Custom Axis guy myself...didn't want to jump on the new fad that was Elka.

I'm an Axis shock guy myself for snow...
Problem is only want to run 35s with a front 1.5" level for now, since my tires are only 1 summer old. Then more to a Carli 3.5 kit and then 37s. 35 on the 3.5 Carli kit look too small IMO. But Carli says the shocks are too long for a 1.5" spacer at full droop. And i go from empty during the summer to 2 sleds on a deck in the winter so the adjustability was appealing. The Fox fonts only cover 0-1.5 or 2-3.5 lift range whereas the elka are 0-3", so the standard non-Carli Fox would not be able to be swapped over to a Carli lift.
Icon 2.5 shocks would apparently work 0-3.5" after email their tech support.
